What is carbon dioxide?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important greenhouse gas that comes from the extraction and burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas, wildfires, and other natural processes. It plays a major part in our environment by trapping heat in the atmosphere, otherwise Earth would be too cold and inhabitable.  Too much carbon dioxide in our atmosphere leads to global temperatures rising, which disrupts other climate processes and contributes to the frequency of natural disasters like hurricanes.


EcoSun Homes is dedicated to helping the environment by using solar energy to power all of our homes, resulting in less carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Each home on average prevents 6 tons of carbon dioxide per year from entering the atmosphere – the equivalent of driving 15,000 miles!

EcoSun Homes saves trees!

Our homes use an unstoppable combination of renewable solar power and energy efficient lighting and appliances, allowing you to use less energy while doing more. Solar power replaces the need for fossil fuels, resulting in less trees cut down for oil drilling and mining. Each EcoSun home comes with a smart panel that tracks and records your energy usage, so you can see your impact at all times. 
On average, just one of our homes offsets enough fossil fuels use to save 250 trees per year!

What is sulfur dioxide?

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) is a gaseous air pollutant composed of sulfur and oxygen. SO2 forms when sulfur-containing fuel such as coal, oil, or diesel is burned. Sulfur dioxide also converts in the atmosphere to sulfates, a major part of pollution in the U.S 
 Every EcoSun home offsets up to 5 pounds of sulphur dioxide each year, lowering the amount of pollution in our atmosphere. Our homes work to make the world a cleaner and greener place.
